AlCunnect Usage to Increase the Thermal Conductivity of Extruded Heat Sinks

Currently heat sinks for power electronics are produced almost entirely from solid aluminium. With overlay plated aluminium copper slugs made from the metal composite AlCunnect it is possible to produce extruded heat sinks with higher thermal conductivity, which have a thick copper layer on the semiconductor side. Due to the higher thermal conductivity of copper and its higher heat capacity a higher cooling performance can be achieved, which could never be achieved with only aluminium. The composite material AlCunnect also provides benefits in the use of water cooling systems.
